Real-life Seattle superhero promises to keep fighting crime after court appearance

CNN reports that Seattle superhero Phoenix Jones appeared in court last week after he was arrested under four counts of assault the previous weekend. After being told he was not being formally charged with anything, he promptly walked out. On the street, he told reporters he would continue to fight against crime, then left without taking questions.

Police claim the superhero, who later revealed his real name to be Ben Fodor, was arrested for using pepper spray on a group of people outside a night club. A spokesman for Fodor said he was trying to break up a fight.

After his court appearance, Fodor made the following statement.

"In addition to being Phoenix Jones," he said. "I am also Ben Fodor, a father and brother. I am just like everybody else. The only difference is that I try to stop crime."

Fodor invited other citizens along with him on future patrols. City officials have yet to decide if Fodor will be formally charged with anything, but in the meantime he has been true to his word, patrolling Rain City.

A group of Rain City superheros gathered Saturday night, along with a fairly large crowd. No trouble happened, but Fodor did give advice to the civilians along the way.
