Chinese couple sells their three children for game money

In an act of startling inhumanity, a young couple in China sold all three of their children in order to afford more time at an Internet cafe.

As reported by Sanxiang City News and translated by ABC, Li Lin and Li Juan left their newborn first child at home alone in 2007 while they went to an Internet cafe 30km away. When money got tight (Internet cafes aren't free, you know), the couple sold their second child, a girl, for the equivalent of $500 shortly after her birth in 2009. They then sold their first child, a boy, for $4,600. Shortly after their third child, another boy, was born, they sold him for another $4,600.

The couple was finally reported to the authorities when Li Lin's mother found out what her son and his girlfriend had been doing.

When asked if they missed their children, the parents answered, "We don't want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money."

The parents also reportedly didn't know they were breaking the law.
